Principal's Message

Dear Prospective Families, Parents, and Guardians:

Welcome to St. Anthony School! We are one of the seven Lumen Christi Academies from across the Oakland Diocese. We have been serving children and families since 1877, with a longstanding teaching staff who have had tenure at our school from 2 years to 23 years.

We seek to mold the child in four nurturing ways. As a faith-filled school community, we strive to mold students to become spiritually conscious followers of Christ, who understand and apply the teachings of the Catholic faith in their own lives. Secondly, we believe that preparing students academically helps them develop self-confidence and self-direction when they approach academic, or even non-academic tasks. We boast a strong, 21st-century curriculum that is practiced in blended-learning format, so that teachers can meet students where they are and support them on an individual basis. We also celebrate the cultural diversity in our school represented by our students, staff, and families. We are blessed to learn about the cultural customs from the many multilingual families at our school, including: Chinese, Igbo, Spanish, Tigrina, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Finally, we are a school that teaches through service. Students learn the values of civic duty, responsibility, and community service through the many projects they participate in.

Our mission is to serve the diverse cultural community of students and families, while also supporting parents and guardians as the child’s primary educators. We truly believe that it takes a community to raise a child and together, we can engage with and nurture the child.

We invite you to come take a tour and experience the wonderful things happening at St. Anthony. Feel free to phone our school office to schedule a tour. Additionally, if you have questions regarding the application or financial aid process, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Welcome to St. Anthony School!

Peace and Blessings,
